Is there a difference or advantage to either installation? Some have a trans per lamp, and some come in kits with one which powers all. what's best?

Thx

Split large numbers of lights into clusters of 4-6 off each transformer (and wire to separate switches, so you can vary the light levels).

depends on the overall number of lamps to me, and the layout.

eg, a room with only 6-8 lamps or less, I prefer one tranny one fitting, for somewhere like a corridor, tempted to go for one tranny for every 3rd fitting, or similar, then you only loose 1 in 3 if the tranny goes.
