Lucy Connolly to be freed

Going crimson with ire while reading the Wail is optional (y)

"Gammon".

Still not racist.

Berk.

Several posters have argued previously that calling Trump Orangina is racist. I can't remember whether you were one of them.
My only comment on childish name calling based on skin colour was that some of the photos were digitally enhanced to make him look more orange.

Can you imagine the outcry if Modi was made to look more brown or Jinping made to look yellow.

It has been clear from day one that Lucy Connolly's sentence was politically influenced.

Lucy states in the below interview that early in the case her solicitor told her: "They are not playing by the rules with these cases"; "I have never seen anything like this before" and "You should never have been placed on remand". That solicitor should now be brought to book. Who were the "they" that were not playing by the rules? What rules were being bent or broken?

"They" did the same thing during the 2011 riots. This is what happens during national riots. The sentencing guidelines call for sentences to be increased as a deterrent to help maintain law and order. Sounds sensible to me. Most of the 2011 rioters were left wing, so the right wing media were actually in favour of it.

I also find it extremely funny that many of the same people who get a boner when Trump puts the military on the street when crime rates are falling, get so upset when a Labour government successfully quells national riots with sensible actions.

Probably. The poor old duffer is even more confused these days.
Gammon - racist, lol.

Still preferring stupidity I see.

This is why threads go on for dozens of pages.

When you're wrong - which you are, a lot - you either deflect and waffle, or move the goalposts.

And, for someone who claims to be a top legal beagle, your written abilities to clearly and accurately convey what you claim to mean is dreadful.

That doesn't prove anything. The answer given was:

Therefore, if a person perceives being referred to with these slurs as a hate crime then it would be investigated as such, and a decision will be made on recording the incident as for any other crime.

Is that the best evidence you have?

Back on topic

This guy has never impressed me. Like in the other videos you have posted, he takes an age to say almost nothing, and seems to waffle endlessly. I have never come across a barrister so lacking in the ability to put forward a simple, lucid analysis. His argument seems to boil down to that it "feels wrong". Somebody with no legal training could have made exactly the same point.

Calling someone a gammon is based on their political views, not their ethnic skin colour.

I go back and forth on this. Sometimes I think it is just about right wing snow flakes having no sense of humour and wanting to cancel free speech. But it did go mainstream after this Wall Of Gammon photo was tweeted:
