I've searched related posts but can't find a match for my problem so I hope some can help.

I have a Worcester Bosch combi boiler, which feeds a Crossways EV121 OEC thermostatic shower mixer tap. It worked perfectly for over a year, until two days ago when I fitted a water flow restrictor to the outlet (shower hose) in the interests of saving water. This resulted in a lukewarm water flow, so I removed the restrictor but the problem remains. Clearly the restrictor has caused something to break or jam. Can someone please advise what I have to check/replace?

I've managed to solve the problem. I unscrewed the shower hose and ran it for a minute - I've now tried it with and without the flow restrictor and its hot with and without.

Why would this have solved the problem?
