Make Britain Great Again

Was Franco considered Fascist, or Salazar in Portugal? they didn't seek the destruction of Jews unlike Hitler, and lasted to mid 70s, surely Nazism is the ideology that believes in ethnic purity and not Fascism itself.

Historically, not all fascist regimes embraced ethnic purity. But for most modern day fascist movements, ethnic nationalism is the core issue.

Seems to.me just diffrent tags for Nasty people, yet other Nasty people dont have a tags. Why is this I wonder?

So them men in trucks and on bikes raping burning and murdering women and children, because they are Jewish on October 7, are they not Fascists?

They share a lot of similarities with fascist and other extreme right wing regimes. Some people call them Islamofascists. But technically they are not fascists because their motivation is religious rather than nationalistic.

Seem very similar
and other extreme right wing regimes.

Some people call them Islamofascists.
That fits well!
But technically they are not fascists because their motivation is religious rather than nationalistic.
Hence why they are Islamofascists and not Fascists...

I do believe we have cracked it.
Well done for being so patient with me.

It's not just nasty. We are talking about extremists here. I suppose not every group fits neatly into an ideological box. I would imagine there are plenty of tags for groups like Islamic State.

Context of the FUBW
  • Ideology: The BUF was a fascist party that modelled its ideology on Mussolini's Italy and Nazi Germany, promoting virulent antisemitism, extreme nationalism, and a corporatist economic philosophy. These core tenets are fundamentally far-right.

It doesn't take many changes to imagine a future historical text.

The BUF Reform was a fascist party that modelled its ideology on Mussolini's Italy Putin's Russia and Nazi Germany MAGA Trumpism, promoting virulent antisemitism, extreme nationalism, and a corporatist economic philosophy. These core tenets are fundamentally far-right.

It seems to me only one that embraces ethnic purity is Nazism, i bet as many if not more people died as a result of Stalinism than by Fascism

Reform was a Popular party that modelled its ideology on the British peoples wants, promoting opportunities for all, bringing back core British values, that had been lost, and a modern economic philosophy. These core tenets are fundamentally right.

Possibly. There is a massive ideological difference, though. Hitler wanted to wipe out whole races of people. Stalin wanted to stay in power, so he killed his perceived enemies.

Would you say Trump was a Nazi?

The Great Replacement Theory endorsed by many on the far right - is that a Nazi ideal and are those folk Nazis that embrace it?

Perhaps you are right to label all these white nationalistic purists Nazis.

Of course not.

I'm pointing out correctly that there were plenty of Left wing Fascist movements

There is no such thing as a 'left-wing fascist party' in any context; the terms are ideological opposites. Fascism is fundamentally a far-right ideology, while left-wing politics are associated with different principles.

and racial hatred is neither a left or right wing thing. Antisemitism existed in left wing politics well before Isreal existed.

Are you talking now about Communism or Socialism?

It gets more interesting. It seems that some modern neofascists are on a rebranding exercise. They have started calling themselves Identitarians and have renamed 'ethnic cleansing' as 'remigration':

AI Overview

Many experts and anti-extremism organizations describe
identitarianism as a form of modern white nationalism and connect it directly to neo-fascism, though the groups themselves often reject the label, preferring "patriots" or "sensible nationalists".

Key Connections and Characteristics
  • Ideological overlap: Identitarian ideology shares core tenets with neo-fascism and white supremacy, including intense anti-immigration sentiment, nativism, xenophobia, and the goal of preserving a homogenous "national identity" defined by ethnicity and culture. Their central doctrine, the demand for "remigration" of settled migrant communities, is considered an extreme position.
  • Metapolitics: Identitarian groups like Generation Identity (GI) focus on "metapolitics" and cultural infiltration, aiming to shift mainstream political discourse (the "Overton Window") to the far-right, a strategy also used by earlier fascist movements.
  • Aesthetics and presentation: Unlike traditional neo-Nazi groups with overt symbols, identitarians adopt a modern, "hipster" look to appear mainstream and attract young people who might be put off by overt skinhead culture. However, this "shiny happy people" presentation is seen by researchers as a calculated rebranding that masks an extreme ideology.
  • Ties to proscribed groups: Members of identitarian groups have been found to have ties to proscribed neo-Nazi terror groups, and the movement has become a rallying point for disparate strands of white nationalism globally.
  • Academic analysis: Academic and journalistic sources often refer to the movement and associated groups using terms like "neo-fascist," "alt-right," and "far-right extremist". German domestic intelligence has classified the youth wing of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party as "definitely extremist" due to its close ties to the Identitarian Movement.
  • Shared tactics: Identitarians are known for highly publicized, carefully planned publicity stunts (e.g., occupying the Brandenburg Gate, disrupting migrant rescue efforts) and effective social media propaganda to spread their message, leveraging modern tools for a long-standing extremist agenda.
In essence, while they attempt to distance themselves from the historical baggage of the term "fascist," the underlying ideology, goals, and connections lead many observers and experts to classify identitarianism as a contemporary form of neo-fascism.

The first line...
"...Left wing fascism is the contested idea...."

Correct, though the RWR are desperate to attempt to show otherwise.
