Hello,

I want to put a balanced flue gas stove in a room (by GasSafe engineer)

However there is an RSJ at celing height supporting an upstairs wall. Is there a rule of thumb measurement for a hole made near to an RSJ. Hole size 6 inches diameter.

The hole will be some 2 feet below and 2 feet to the right.

Thanks

Anything connected with siting the boiler or its flue is down to the Gas Safe.

Thanks, yes it will be done by a gas safe engineer, but I just wanted to get some idea if the hole could be some 4 feet lower than the RSJ and a bit to the right. I don't know if a Gas Safe engineer is qualified as a builder would be.

Thanks that was what I hoped. I thought the RSJ would be giving pressure accross the bricks and not just in a verticle line.

Many thanks, will make sure they are not Stone Masons. Regards
