Well . . . having taken expert opinion from this site, I took a million quid out of the bank and called a local RGI recommended to me by my neighbour. He came round, inspected my work, disconnected the gas and arranged to come back 3 days later to commission the new boiler. After he left, I removed the old boiler, flue, cylinder and tanks, finished the pipe runs and spent a day flushing the system until it was clean enough to drink.
Imagine my surprise 3 days and 6 hours later when I handed over the million quid and got £999,700 change. You can do the "math" yourselves.
