They never worked that i think they are for if you have got some mark on the surface of something. I think the taps have actually took the surface or porcelain off so it needs to be put back on if you get me.
IN that case you are stuffed - unless you:
a- replace sink
b- use appriapate filler
c- call in a firm that specialises in it.
Then sharply insert offending tap into the ear of the offending daughter.
