has anyone ever come across this pipe before..?? the reason is i have a customer with no water as they broke the pipe and called me out, a trip to the local plumbcentre informed me that it was used on one estate locally but they dont stock any fitting for it or anything to convert it to copper...!!! any suggestions how to overcome this problem, the whole house is done in it and the pipe broke is the basin w/c supply pipe..

It would help if you could say what the outside diameter of the pipe is.

It might be the uPVC (or ABS?) stuff that was used about 30 years ago. In which case the outside diameters correspond to ODs of mild steel pipe, namely 16mm for the nominal 3/8" size (looks like 1/2" though). The nominal 1/2" would be about 21mm I think.

I have some 16mm (French size) compression fittings specially for this stuff, although I think Yorkshire make a 3/8" x 15mm adaptor fitting for it. If you do a search on say 3/8" you might find details on this forum.

i had something like that in last house, got a 3/8 x 1/2 kuterlite with copper insert. it was from travis perkins merchants.hope it helps.
