Hi,

I have to fill in the void of a removed chimney breast because half of a padstone supporting a UC 203x203x71 is situated there.

How would you fill in the void (16cm thick) ? Blocks, bricks? A lintel may be required to build from, but unsure where to situate it.

Bricks and blocks. Use bricks to immediately tie into the adjacent bricks then block tie the blocks into the remaining masonry. If this sounds a wee bit too complex, just fill in with brick.

Thanks, I suppose concrete blocks or light weight concrete blocks?

Basically it's a jigsaw procedure to tie existing bricks then new blocks.

Any example picture?
