I was in a pub few months ago. Till system was on the blink, so cash only. I sat there enjoying my pint while I watched the sheeple troop in and leave empty handed and thirsty cursing their cards and dumb phones.

Same thing happened to me in Wetherspoons about a year ago.
I had go and find a cash machine to get some money, ever since then I always carry cash.
Plastic is fantastic but cash is king, as yer man said.

When we have blackouts (see the adds on buses, etc warning us) fuel can be stored. The vast majority of the population have no way of storing sufficient electricity to charge cars.

It's for reasons like this my PV array has a battery backup and a separate supply that will operate even when the grid is down. It's very popular in regions with less reliable power infrastructure and good sunshine like California.

Actually it isnt, it was to save an extra few hundred quid a year. But it's a nice bonus.
