Why is it a brick wall?
I would not use tape to seal to brickwork, if it was a plaster wall I would and fill out, I would use caulk if it is a feature brick wall.
You would also want to be thinking of, finishing your external angles with thin coat beads.

thanks for reply,i say brick wall ..blockwork which has been plastered

If it's a brick wall that's been plastered, then use fibre tape on the corner joint where it meets the plasteboard pipebox. Put half the tape onto the brickwall, half onto the pipebox. As PBD says, use thincoat beads on the external corners of the pipebox. If the plastered wall has been painted in the past,, brush a little PVA on the painted side of the internal corner, (a little wider than the tape), it'll help the plaster bond to the paint. Plaster onto it while it's wet/tacky. You wont need to PVA the new plasterboard pipebox.
