boughtonpat, you will see from the various posts that most likely you will not be able to safely install the 10KWatt shower.

The electrician gave you poor advice since even a 40amp MCB would not be appropriate for a 10Kwatt load. The electrician should have provided you with much more advice. It is also quite likely that the existing cable is not appropriate for a 10KWatt load. Any attempt to install the shower without ensuring the cable is appropriate will likely lead to a fire.

You have two choices

1) Take the shower back and buy 7KW/7.5KW shower.
2) Contact a registered electrician and have them quote you for the work required to install a 10KW shower.
