I need a couple to go in a generic enclosure - are there any makes I should avoid which don't have cable entry points behind where the busbar would go if they were in a CU?

No - if I look at, for example, a Siemens or MK MCB, there's a box terminal about 2cm behind the busbar slot. The screw which clamps onto the busbar also tightens the box terminal, so you could use either to supply the MCB.You mean the likes of the old wylex where the screw went through the busbar?
Use of an MCB in a small enclosure with no busbar. What are you trying to achieve?
There will be external DP isolation.Don't you need isolation at that point (ie DP main switch)?

Indeed - hence my Q (rephrased with a different term): are there any makes I should avoid which don't have a box terminal behind the busbar slot?Ban - as you point out, many MCB's have both a box terminal and a slot.
I would say with almost certainty that if your MCB has a box terminal, it will suit attachment to a cable.

are there any makes I should avoid which don't have a box terminal behind the busbar slot?
