I have a PC with 8GB of dual rank memory:
CT894DFD8213

I have heard if you are boosting memory to 16GB, they may be a requirement to mix single rank and dual rank memory.

Is there any truth in this?
Should both memory sticks match, or does it not matter?

If you download the crucial memory scanner it should tell you what you have and options for what you need.

You are best to post the information of the motherboard i.e. model and revision (if applicable). Or search for it yourself and get the manual for it.

I think you have to have a matched pair due to the way the controller handles the memory
