Hello,
this is my first post in this forum!
I would like to knock down a wall that divides my living room from a small storage room in order to have a living room + kitchen.
Obviously I need to check if the wall in question is bearing or not. I have scraped off some of the plaster and found a metal decking surface. (I am not sure of the exact terminology so please see the attached photo).
The decking stripes are 14cm wide and the narrow lines go 5cm deep.
The lines are going parallel to the wall I want to knock down and not perpendicular. Does this mean that wall is not important to support the floor above?
