Hi,

I’ve taken the bathroom wall back to brick and was looking at fixing tile backer boards. Been looking at the rigid polystyrene boards such as wedi, prowarm etc presume they are all pretty much the same?

Can’t seem to find instructions on fixing to a solid wall.

Can anyone advise do I need to use tile adhesive AND screws?

Is there a minimum thickness of board for this, is 6mm ok?

Any advise/ tips much appreciated

use 12mm b/b but only use on wet walls eg in a shower.
plumb and flat depend on the brickwork - you are sometimes best to dab the back with adhesive and then screw to plane.
carry any b/b beyond any enclosure rails by about 150mm - if not 150mm then at least beyond the enclosure jambs.
