Some front plate filters have connections for the un-filtered pair to to the modem / router as well as the socket for the modem / router. Use a single pair of telphone cable from those un-filtered connections to a socket where you want the modem located. ( you can use 2 pair cable and ignore one pair ).
I can thoroughlly recomennend the ADSL nation front plate as I have had one for years with no problems whatsoever. It does have the seperate connections for phones and for a modem socket on the rear of the plate as Bernard referred to.
