Have looked in many places, can't access Autodata.

Can anyone say if this engine is non-interference?

I have delved into the car's service history and it's not good......

First three year's servicing covered by the main dealer. Last main dealer service 6/12/05, 20714 miles.
Next service: 4/4/14, 65,769 miles, no cambelt change.
Last service: 13/01/16, 71929 miles, no cambelt change.
Mileage as of today: 80,198.

Got hold of Mitsubishi UK. Initially they said they hadn't a clue, but have just got back to me: the 1.3 16V petrol is a non-interference engine, so if the worst happens, it shouldn't trash the whole engine. I understand in some NI engines, valves can still get bent though.
Hopefully if someone else needs this information in the future this will come in handy.

Interference or otherwise, that belt needs changing pronto.....its aged, although the mileage isnt vast.

Yeah, it's cracking on...hopefully not literally!

Had a quote today for £250 to change all the belts (cam belt and others) and the cam belt tensioners. Bit beyond me.

They're supposed to be changed every 5 years or 54K. The car will be 17 years old in December.
Going by the correct intervals, it should have had one in 2007, 2012 and 2017.....
