This my first time on here, so apologies if I haven't given enough info or used the correct terms.

I have an exposed thermostatic mixer shower, similiar to the one shown in the link at bottom, but have a problem turning it off. The shower valve handle is very stiff, and is becoming stiffer, it has actually come off before.
I wanted to know if there is a reason for it becoming stiff, or if I should just get the shower valve replaced.

Would be grateful for any advice.

If you have that particular grand's worth of Mira then the answer is relatively simple, get the right refurb kit from them and replace the relevant O rings etc and you'll have a shower like new.

But if you've got a shed-bought lookalike which cost £150 then it won't be as easy!. It's well worth removing what you can to get at bits which can bind. If you spray with WD40 and it eases a bit, (that won't last) you know that dismantling and greasing with silicone grease will work.

If only I had that exact model, I some how think mine may be a cheap lookalike! Anyhow, thanks for your quick response, I'll see how I get on. :)
