Mixer tap leaking from base

Saw the thread on this. My tap is leaking where the swivel tap sits on the base. on the thread it mentions a small screw, however on my tap there is no screw so how would I take it apart to do the o ring?

Also saw that some can be pulled off? my tap does the full 360 turn. I have tried turning the on off handle past its lock, but it feels like it might break. the on/off handle also swivels like the tap neck but only has about 60 degrees of movement.

have you a pic of what tap you have ?

your tap sounds like a cartridge one.

Can get a pic, I have manged to get the on/off swivel off via a small screw. it looks like a cartidge (i think!). pics will help as Im stuggling to descibe!

now you need to remove the hex shroud at the top.

Once that comes off will the tap body come off as well? I havnt got a spanner that will undo that, what do i ask for and could i use anything else?

if i remember i done one before with the end of a tap back nut spanner.

whats the diameter of the hole measure on yours across the flats ?

About 41mm

you may be lucky and get away with using one then
my box spanner measure approx 40mm
