Mondeo Air Con

Would anyone know if the above car looses air con fluid pressure that the pump will stop running.
The car is 9years old & I dont mind paying for a re pressure but not if the motor wants changing.

it could be anything within the air con system that has failed,or it might just need a regas.
iirc kwikfit were doing a recharge for 45 quid and said if they couldnt get it cooler then you didnt pay,you pay your money you take your chance.

Also check the fuses behind the glove box, the one for the air con is the same one as the one for the heated washer jets - had mine pop a while back when a washer jet burned up.
Even if this has blown the yellow lamp in the air con button still works but it doesn't get cold, worth a look.

I have it booked into Kwik fit in the morning they are still doing no fix no pay. will let you know how it comes on.

yeah, with regard to the kwik fit.

when they do the first temp, make sure they press the button.
essentially, when I got mine refilled, they did 1st test, just the fan, then put the air con on after they recharged.

in my case it didnt matter, the aircon was empty, but if you are after a top-up of a part working system, keep your eye on em...

I got two cars done at Kwik Fit. The first time I blew in the manager's ear and they did it for £25. The second time, I showed them the first receipt and they did it for £25 again.

Air con now working OK, the guy in front of me didnt have to pay as he had a hole in one of the pipes.
Very happy.
