Hi all.
If the valve of a three port mid position valve is stuck open in say" OPEN HW", could that also prevent the motor from spinning if you call for CH or can you have a stuck valve and a spinning motor? And does the motor of the above mentioned valve always spin in the same direction regardless of what you call? Thank u 4 your time.

Assuming you have a standard spring return valve.

If the valve is stuck it is possible the motor has insufficient power to open the valve.

The motor always spins in the same direction to either full open (CH only) or half way to mid position at which point it is stalled.

Motors can be dead or partially dead ie windings are shorted or open circuit - the motor may appear to work but it will have lost power.

Remove the motor and with the motor casing earthed it should be impossible to stop the gear wheel rotating with your fingers.
