I'm replacing a variable speed controller unit that is attached to this motor.
The specs of the new one warn against use on "brushless(magnetic induction) or shaded pole motors"
How can I tell what type this one is (230v variant)?

Yes, a standard squirrel cage induction motor.
You need one that has carbon brushes fitted.

So am I correct in saying it's a 3phase motor in delta?
(The existing controller is fed from a 13a domestic plug)

If so then as a bare minimum would this work?
Cheap ebay unit

Im painfully aware it's rock bottom quality but the application requires only a simple start, speed adjust and stop control in a domestic low dust and humidity environment.
Aside longevity what am I missing?
