Hi, I am renovating my kitchen and changing the layout so it's more user friendly.
One of the things I want to do is to move the washing machine from it's current position, next to the sink, to the other end of the room. Currently the machines waste is plumbed with a washing machine waste fitting into the top of the sinks trap and waste. All pretty normal.
When the machine is moved it will have it's own dedicated waste pipe which will run the length of the kitchen, about 2.5 metres before joining back to the sinks waste. The join will be below the sinks trap so will it need it's own trap to stop smells etc coming in via the washing machine?
Is there a height I need to put the trap at for the machine, or do I just need to make sure the gradient is correct overall for the length of waste pipe as it flows back to the sink waste?
Thanks/
