Recently the belt snapped on the mower, A new belt was fitted & away we go again.
Today the dog leg end on the self propelled clutch cable just flew off.
Cable did snap & isn’t frayed etc.
Either it was clamped correctly when made or when the belt was adjusted can you over tighten it thus pulling the gearbox more than it should and putting tension on the cable ?

The lever on the gearbox has limited travel.....effectively it just engages a dog clutch.
Therefore if the clutch is fully engaged but the cable lever isn’t fully back to the handlebar it is possible to strain the cable unneccesarily by pulling the cable back further.
There is adjustment on the cable to prevent this happening.
