You mean like this.....The purpose of the mug shot is to have a record of the person's face (the mug) to enable them to be identified.
Considering that the fact-free Wail had free access to both photos and both have been published for public consumption - what exactly is the problem? Is that really a problem. I don't think it would have bothered me.

You think it's ok for convicted criminals to be allowed to hide their identify, because of their religious beliefs? That doesn't seem fair. The judge agreed. So, I've worked it out.
There were two mugshots.
The first one, showing her face, is the one which the police would have kept for future identification purposes. That was done in the normal way.
But it seems that this woman wanted a different one to be released to the public, with her wearing a burka. Is that really a problem. I don't think it would have bothered me.
Doesn't look that well hidden to me...You think it's ok for convicted criminals to be allowed to hide their identify,

Then the thread would have been justified. As it stands, anyone and everyone can see her mug. I see no issues.Let's say for the sake of argument, though, that she has been successful.

Part of the deterrent for criminals is having their crimes and identities made public. It's not really about hiding identity. The police would still have had the normal photo for identification purposes. That's why I was asking earlier about the purpose of the mug shot being released to the media.
Is it?Part of the deterrent for criminals is having their crimes and identities made public.
Unless you are really wealthy.Part of being a convicted criminal is the loss of certain rights and liberties.

who do you have in mind?Unless you are really wealthy.
