Hi guys,

I wanted to buy a multi tool, but the choice is massive.

Been to b&Q and had a look at a few.

http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/power-to.../specialist_tools/AEG-Multi-Tool-12v-12227510

which feel good, but only 1 battery.

Seen einhell version in the local builders merchant. with 2 battery? does anyone else have any experience with them.

I dont do this everyday, but will be quite a heavy user of the kit..

also anyone used saxton blades?

this kit seems like a good plan?

Cheers

Looks like a gimick to me, i remove tiles with a lump hammer and 4' bolster.

I am trying to cut some windows and sills out with ****ing up the surrounds.

Stanly knife doesnt quite get deep enough.!!!!

Are you replacing the windows or just the glass?

@pred: i am try to cut the whole window out neatly,

Yes bosch ones look nice, not sure if i can justify the expense....

I think multitools are fantastic and I'd not want to be without mine.

The Bosch PMF180 is a good one to get at about £60 if you want to try one.

The blades can be expensive but someone asked earlier Saxton Blades on Ebay are a source of good blades at a fair price.

The Bosch is noisy so I always wear ear defenders when using it.

I have a Bosch PMF 180, not heavily used and ust had to repair the armature winding as it snapped at the connection.

Appears to be a common problem.

OK for odd DIY jobs, if you need to use it a lot get a better one.

I bought a Fein severall years back (my second - first one got nicked) before the patents ran out and everyone started to copy them. Absolutely brilliant tools for all those awkward cuts that nothing else will touch (but noy knocking tiles off walls). Tried the cordless Bosch quite recently. The batteries give you 10minutes or so cutting - not enough for continual use but enough for a single cut.
