They all start life shiny and new, I have got tool boxes galore but non have tools in, just chuck it in the van and let it fend for itself.

I have just bought a new circular saw; http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/power-to...-Purpose-Circular-Saw-10837613?skuId=11328300

It comes with no carry case, i have been looking and cant find any, has anyone got any idea of how i could transport it safely?

Also has anyone got any ideas on how to carry drill bits?

'that......thing' is actually very good, i used to have an expensive one but it was carp and broke, and i dont use it very often so just got a cheaper one.
Just used it to cut through kitchen worktop and it was very good.

Would a tool bag provide sufficient protection for a tool in transit?

its got a solid base and ends and easily holds 6 tools and other odds and s0ds
i don't throw my tools about but the odd bash shouldn't damage a tool or bag

putting your tools in bags they use up about 60% less space

ryobi/ impact driver/mastic gun /jigsaw /nail gun /delta sander :D :D
i know my ryobi

Keep all my power tools boxed at all times. When you reach into the van you lift a carry case and off you go.
No fumbling around in bags or boxes to find the tool you want which will usually be buried at the bottom.

And of course the carry case contains other vital accessories for that particular tool.

Kept my cordless circular saw in the makita supplied toolbag and after a month of not anywhere near rough handling, the fence screw was bent and had to be replaced. Blow molded boxes all the way for protection.

the only reason i am wanting a case for it is because it doesnt have a case supplied with it.

One of the main reasons for not using cases for me is thieves like tidy vans.

take your stuff out at night, or atleast the expensive stuff, thats what i do. just want bags so more stuff is out at night, than only put in what you need for the day.

Theres a small hardware shop in shrewsbury called Abbey hardware who i buy a lot of stuff from if i'm in the area, cheaper than most outlets, very helpful and always friendly. They also split combo kits or build combo kit to suit your needs i.e take away the torch and give you a tool you really need, as a consiquence of spliting the kits the always have spare boxes (usually dewalt) that they sell, of course they won't fit other makes like a glove but with a internal adjustments will do the job, i had a dewalt 9" circular which comes with no box so bought a great big box from them from a 5 piece combo, its big enough for my 9" and a couple of small 18v trim saws.

Give them a call or check the ebay store to see what they have, they always have boxes in stock
