If replacing a 32A MCB with a 32A 30mA RCBO for a ring final for additional protection would this require and EIC or just MWC?

Think I know the answer but just canvassing some opinions!

It isn't like for like swop of a protective device, so EIC I am afraid.

Slight aside ut not a hijack:

How about replacing a rewireable BS3036 fuse with a plug in MCB.
Full EIC or MWC?

My first thought was MWC but having just double checked regs and instructions for use of MWC

but not for the replacement of distribution boards or similar items

Then EIC it is, although not fully defined I guess similar items means CPDs

Personally I'd issue an EIC but only record test results for the circuit which I have modified, and write in the 'extent of works' box exactly what I have done.

You would still need to ensure the circuit which you have modified is fully compliant, which includes the likes of making sure all MEBs are in place etc.
