Can anyone help? I know they exist, but I've searched the internet and can't find any!

What do you want to use it for? Is it a metal club hammer type?

I need to use it with a scotching tool for chasing out for back boxes and my weedy arms find a 2lb one just too tiring! :( 1lb is just right! I've been using a metal headed one with wooden handle to date...

Hmmm - seems like a club hammer to crack a nut!

I don't have access to an angle grinder and I know that 1lb ones are available somewhere!

Cut it both sides for the correct balance :D

Have you look at the panel beater hammer for banging dents out on cars? They're normally lighter.

Errr, is that a joke?

I wouldn't have thought a rubber headed mallet would be much cop for chipping out brickwork?!

No, some of them are metal which have a large head.

The another I can think when my mate used to do ceiling plasterboards for a living was a light weight plasterboard hammer, I don't know if it's still around.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. I will check out some alternative hammers - ones with shorter handles would be best - for access.

I do use SDS but for some jobs it's overkill and I like to try and be neat (maybe it's a female thing!)

:?

what kind of chisell are you using if your using a bolster chisel try and use a thinner one not as wide.

I've been using what I call a scotching tool - like a mini bolster with replaceable 'teeth' about 1.5" wide. I've found bolsters OK on soft plaster, but the scotcher is better on brick.
