Hi

Please see attached images

where the very bottom of where the extendable waste pipe attaches there is a dribble, but enough that its a problem.

On the pics the area I mean is in red.

The seal on the pipe seems good and its tightly attached to the toliet.

in the second image you can see a little water caught near the joint (circled), but wouldn't this be normal?

I really appreciate any advice or help.

How did you know there was a leak? Was it actually dripping on the floor?

Did you fit the pan with some lubricant on that rubber seal?

By running my finger along the join underneath.

No lubricant? I thought the tightness of the fitting (which took some time to get on) was seal enough.

What type of lubricant?

Replace the connector with a Multikwik brand one. You get a sachet of lube free. Use it.

OK so to be clear I really had to force the connector on, this means I've stretched it or something that means I need a new one?

I was thinking it was the back of the toilet not being a perfect circle of something, not that I can see that.

Are you sure it is not leaking from the cistern and running around the pan connector? Very common problem.

Put some dye in the cistern and leave for 30 mins, any signs of any leaks? now flush the toilet and let us know.

It isn't connected to the cistern, I just tipped a couple of large pans of water down the loo to test the flush.

You haven't stretched it or damaged it; just lubricate the seal and the spigot and slip them back together. Don't use anything petroleum-based like Vaseline though or you will damage the seal.

So you think I can still use it? All very confusing. I'm going to buy a new one to be sure I think.

OK put a brand new one on, that cost me £20, and guess what still damp.

I woulds say that is how I would describe it, damp rather than wet, though its definitely 'leaking' even if only a little.

This expandable outlet pipe went on quite easy actually, and does seem to slip maybe 2-3mm at the top of the connection, but stays tight at the bottom?

Weird, so toilet is usable, but there is still a slight issue.
