Mystery pipe in garden

Hi, removed an old shed and clearing the old base I unearthed this pipe.

Looks like a drain valve but no idea what for or if it’s still in use. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

It's not in use with an open end.

Makes sense, I’m still intrigued what it would have been for. It’s right in the corner of the garden, as far away from the house as it could be.

Maybe was used for a standpipe for watering garden/greenhouse and the plugcock was for draining in the winter.
