Is MyWebSearch good or bad to have. I stupidly said yes to Smiley's and clicked ok for the whole bloomng rubbish ie Funcards and such rot!! I have tried removing it from Control Panel Add/Remove but it's stll there staring me in the face! If I click on View and remove the Navigation Tool bar at least it's not in my face - but I know the blooming thing is still there. :roll:

Please your advice is required. :(

Second vote for Malwarebytes - this is a truly excellent program. And free, if you don't pay for the full-time protection it can provide.

I couldn't agree more with disinfo and joe.

Firstly clear out all your browser's temp files and cache by opening your browser and using Tools -> Options.

Then, click here and download Malwarebytes.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to the following:

o Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
o Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

* Then click Finish .
· If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform Full scan , then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK , then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Reboot as required.

If everything is running fine now, purge your System Restore points and reboot. Then turn SR back on and set a new restore point.

If you are not sure how, just post back.
