Sorry I was half asleep when I wrote it.
I was on about this bit

the meter changers are trined to change meters, and nothing else.

They are not electricians by any strech of the imagination

But some of the lads I work with and I was lucky enough to be trained by were (from the old board days and some still are) practicing sparks, tho they are few and far between now.

So meant that although most of us are er rubbish , some meter men are sparks.

Almost certainly not a DNO. Most sold off their metering businesses some years ago...
