Need a hose lock part connecting to tap

The part connecting my hose lock seems to be busted.
See image below.

It's the part on the right.
The water comes out in splurges. (I'm assuming this is the cause of the problem!)
This pipe is about 1m long and connects to the bigger hosepipe on a reel.

Does this part replace the part I need:

While writing this post... I think I found out what it's called 'hose end connector'.
In my pic, I think I'm missing one part that screws on.

Or, am I better off ordering online?

yes the toolstation one will do it.
Order a spare too.

BTW, these are available in the supermarkets so you can pick one up while shopping.

You can also get brass versions

Personally I wouldn't use one with a water stop as they do seem to restrict water flow , especially if there's one on both ends

Is a brass version better and longer lasting?

I was being cheap...
The toolstation price seems very good.
Ignoring petrol and time costs of course
Local pound shops have, but they want to sell a kit with other attachments.

The brass ones last longer

Sometimes Aldi or Lidl have them cheap in The Central Aisle Of Mystery in a set of attachments

Even the brass ones eventually wear out. Especially the click-on connectors.

got a set of brass accessories in Lidl for £7 on sunday. They were almost all gone.

I ended up buying direct from hozelock
The tap adapter was not available ANYWHERE
All others sold everywhere were the wrong one.
It was only £2.50 delivered I think, so not bad.

I happened to see your post

when maintaining my hose apparatus, i noticed a couple of male connectors had missing or broken O-rings

do you know where I can get them, or what size to order?

good tip, thanks. I bought some and fitted a couple yesterday. amazing what a difference such a small cheap part makes to a substantial brass coupling.

I will also try to remember to plug the two ends together when not in use to protect the seal from sunlight and dirt.
