Need help pretty quick with eletric box

Question for those in the know .... as a matter of interest, what is the right-hand ("Split Load") 3-module RCD? Is it perhaps wide just so that it can have 'output' terminals to daisy-chain the second RCD?

Kind Regards, John

The RCD's and MCB's fit on a similar basis to the old Stablok type, so the wider RCD picks up a live feed off the HI insulated busbar, then outputs the live to the busbar on the RHS. ... Hence 3 modules needed, Lin, Lout & Nin.
Thanks. I take it that this means that there is no "Lout" terminal at the top, just an "Nout"?

Kind Regards, John

tellytv;

If it is the RCD/RCCB what is tripping, then you have live/neutral/ live and neutral to earth condition somewhere.

If it is the MCB what is tripping, then you likely have a short circuit and possibly an overload somewhere.

The two earth wires (CPC) from the ceiling should be connected to the earth terminal on the light fixture.

For the red and the black wires going into the ceiling, they could either be (amusing you have not touched them);

a) Permanent live from the feed joined to the permanent live to the switch

b) Be going to another light and is incorrectly wired in series with another light

You really need to identify what the two wires are (i.e. feed in/feed out vs. feed in / switch)

Also, you have not accidentally damaged the cable with the screws in the ceiling have you?

Lastly, have you considered their might be a fault with your new light fitting and has a short it somewhere?
