Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.
Our Neff oven (U1421) heats up to a certain temperature and then trips the main RCD. We have had a similar thing with the element before, but this time the oven is getting pretty hot before it trips. Any ideas?
when an oven trips the RCD, it is generally because the insulation in the element has broken down with age. There is a very faint chance it could be something else, for example if it always trips when it reaches the preset temperature, something round the thermostat. If you know how to do it safely, you could disconnect or remove the element
You could have shorted the t/stat & if after 20 mins no trip. you would know that it was the t/stat, too late now.
But it probably is the element.
Take care when removing the terminals.
MAKE CERTAIN ITS OFF at the mains.
