Hi,

I am planning on buying preferably a nest thermostat and would like to install it myself. I would just like some advice on how to install it. I currently have a Potterton boiler with a hardwired thermostat (Danfross).
I have attached a picture of the existing wiring

The wires from left to right are labelled - N, L, ON and COM

Thanks

You need to provide a bit more info than just a photo of your existing room thermostat.

What sort of heating and hot water system do you have? (for example is it a fully pumped with motorised valves, if so 2 or 3 port, and how many? is it a system with Gravity hot water and pumped heating? is it a combi... or something else?)

Danfoss make a whole range of thermostats, fortunately I can see from your photo that it's a RET230P, which is just a manual dial thermostat, so what controls the time that the heating is on for? I assume there will be a clock or programmer somewhere. If so please provide details.

What about your boiler? Potterton have probably made hundreds of different models. to coin a well known phrase, what's yours called?

Once the above is known, then someone may be able to assist you.
