New basin waste - won't drain once trap fills

The worst part about all of this (and I feel for you) is, you think you're doing someone a favour and then end up looking the fool.
Yes! When I was a teenager, people would ask me for computer help, and that was generally bothersome, so I quickly learned to say 'no'.

I offered with this because they had rang a few people and I got the impression they were not interested (I appreciate that, on paper, it's a small job with no profit). And I'd found doing my (much more complex!) kitchen sink a doddle. I just hope that I can eventually learn the solution.

I did run both traps under the bath tap, and they worked as expected. I must admit, I don't remember if I tried the same under the basin, as the access would be a pest (to get a jug/bucket in).
