New combination boiler

I bet you're not. Some doctors earn less - and they train for 11 years.

You are on £1400 per week and you are complaining?

No wonder there's a glut of new engineers from the UK and abroad.

That defies the law of supply and demand Joe.

If the market is swamped with engineers, why hasn't the price reached rock bottom? You have defeated your own argument, which has it's basis in hearsay and tabloid myths.

Because people go to 'their' man. Ask any gas fitter if he is busier now than a few years ago.

I pay mine 4 quid, but the lazy bstrd takes nearly a whole day to fit a new system.

And you never charge a call-out then?

Monday/ Tuesday you fit a combi for £700

Wed/Thur you do the same again. £700

Friday you quote/paperwork and go to the pub.

Make the most of it - it won't last.

Shows how much you know about business. I have to make atleast £200 a day just to make minimum wage

You clearly have no idea about vat, tax, fuel, van, tools, insurance, etc etc

The cost between a bottom end boiler and the best is not that big

£1300 anyone can chuck a boiler on the wall and pipe it up, if you want it done properly I would want already double that PLUS VAT

Which would make your hourly rate what? It's only a DIY job FFS.
