New Electrical regulations for Let flat in Scotland

Cheers
I spent my apprenticeship wiring S and Y plans as well as house bashing.

The new rules are working- I did an EICR at the weekend (abject fail) and the tenant was due to move in tomorrow.
The move in date has now been postponed until Thursday to allow the remedial works to be carried out, this is for a landlord who has 7 properties.

Previously this would have never been done or thought about.

With respect mate, S & Y plans are 70/80s controls. We're on Open Therm & the like protocol now, wiring in Cat5. One of our apprentice Plumbers is doing a project on controls using a Rasberry Pie & Anduno.

And still people struggle with them

And the next guys in will do that "breath in through teeth" specialised in by certain tradespeople and offer to rip it out and put something that works in - like a Y plan. I see there's an emoticon for what I think about people like that :censored:

Just to add, I've had a few ideas myself - but than reign in the imagination on the basis that the less "basic" a system becomes, the harder it is to find someone who can work on it without "breaking" it.
