Hello!
I am in the process of putting an en-suite into what was a walk-in wardrobe and would be very grateful for some advice.
The light currently in there is a spotlight that is one of 8 (the other 7 being in the bedroom). All are connected to a dimmer switch. I want to separate this spot from the rest with a new DP switch. I want this to be connected to a new extractor fan which will come on when the light does.
I've checked under the boards in the loft and the lighting circuit is nearby. Am I right in saying I should put a junction box into the circuit cable, run a cable to the spot and one from there to the DP switch? If this is correct, I have two questions. Do I then run a cable from the spot, or the DP switch, to the extractor? Secondly, the switch connection has a terminal for the earth wire but the spotlight only has two terminals? I'm very new to this but....er....what do I do with the earth wire?
Thanks in anticipation!
