New garage installation

Hi All, I'm new to this as well as a home i've just bought.

My query is that i am having a garage build and want to electricity to it. i have a spare 'way' in my consumer unit (which currently has a 32amp breaker in it, which the previous owner ran the shower off).

can i run some amoured cable from this to a smaller consumer unit in the garage, i am getting a professional in to carry out the work but just wanted if my thinkin is correct?

Yes that would be OK.

Just to add a (small) point - if you're thinking about putting electric doors on the garage make sure that the isolator is in the house and *not* the garage.
