Hi All

I am back and need help. I am ready for my gas combi boiler to be reinstalled. I need help in working out what size of radiators I need in my new two room extension. One room is a bedroom upstairs and second room is extended dining room. Both rooms are 3meters x 4 meters with slightly larger windows.

Thank you all in advance.

Nobody could possibly calculate heat losses from the limited information you've given.

Why [on Earth] isn't your installer doing the calculations?

Good question Softus. I am going to press him and insist to get and fit right rads. Thanks any way.

I don't see that you need to be pressing him, or insisting - just ask him to provide the correct radiator(s) for each room, taking into account the room usage, the construction of the walls and floors, and the window area. He should be doing the relevant calculation to determine the correct boiler power rating, taking into account the usual number of occupants in whatever size of house you have. Ask him to warrant that his calculations will be correct.

If he's reluctant to do all of this then don't hesitate to choose an installer who isn't.
