I often write my posts as I would when using a word processor.

I always place a single space after a comma, and two after a full stop.

Recently (or maybe since day dot) I notice that where ever I place two spaces, or occasionlly more when I want to emphasise something, the spaces are regex'ed out of the post.

Has something changed?

It's actually a HTML thing. If you post a something with multiple spaces in, it is stored in the database with multiple space and when the page is called it is sent with multple spaces (if you look at the HTML source you can see the multiple spaces), but when the HTML is rendered in your browser it reduces blocks of spaces to a single space, this is normal HTML behaviour.

Umm.....

Thanks for the explanantion.

However, most sites seem to be able to display paragraphs with multiple spaces? Maybe it is just the way PHP handles the HTML.
