First thing I would like help with is the selection and installation advice on a new shower pump. I am looking at buying a 3 bar pump that will pump both the hot and cold water to our new thermostatic shower system. I want to install this in the loft which will be directly above the shower in the bathroom but it will also be beside the water tank.
There is an electric shower fitted at present so things like electrics and the appropriate cold water outlet from the water tank are there already.
Here are thing's that I am uncertain on; 1) most drawings of pump installations I've seen state that it's best to install the pump in your airing cupboard next to the hot water tank. This is impossible for us though as ours in on the ground floor and on the opposite side of the house. Can I install the pump in the loft and what type of pump should I be looking at?
2) I have also read that when using a pump the system needs to have a pressure relief valve fitted. Is this correct? Where would this be bearing in mind our installtion/ system layout above?
Finally, I purchased some new bathroom taps recently and there are a couple of flat metal discs that are shaped, I have no idea what these are for, there are no instructions with the taps. Is there a way to upload images so I can display them for you guys to look at and comment on?
