I feel I may have majorly cocked up with my planning here.
I am looking to replace my bathroom sink, because over time it's proven to be too small for our requirement. The one I am replacing it with is a rectangular shape and therefore has a much larger area. It is also approx. 3cm wider than the current one.
In addition, I also want to remove the empty pillar on the right of the sink (approx. 8cm wide) - and then I want the sink to shift to the right, so there is no gap with the wall.
What I have failed to take in to account is the current location of the waste pipe. With the sink moving across, the pedestal will cover the existing hole and a new hole will need to be created.
I don't think that's impossible, as I suspect you would need to remove the back tiles, and add a joint to move the pipe about 6-7 cm along the floor and then replace those tiles. The problem I have with this is that I cannot for the life of me find that particular tile. It's 33cm x 33cm and is like a very light grey. The closest one I could find is this: https://www.diy.com/departments/mon...ck-of-13-l-333mm-w-333mm/3663602608011_BQ.prd, but after putting it against the current tiles, it's more white than grey and the difference is going to be visible right away.
I know I will need to add a small tile on the floor where the pillar is, but I'm not too bothered about that as I plan to put the wastebin there - so it won't be visible anyway. I don't want to replace the entire flooring as that would turn a relatively cheap job in to an expensive one.
What are my options here? I really don't want to keep that pillar and even if I have to, the new sink will almost - if not - be touching the toilet cistern.
