Good morning, so I'm replacing my light switches after decorating. The old switch fell apart when I was removing it. I've swapped all the wires over but now the downstairs hall light turns on in the office position and the upstairs light doesn't work when the switch is turned on downstairs I will be replacing the metal case in the wall as the screw has snapped off so will be fitting an earth from the new case to the faceplate. Any help would be much appreciated. I've changed light switches in the past. This one has me stumped

But swap all the wires, not just the COMs
Also you need to run an earth wire from the switch plate to the back box
I've done this and both lights are working but the lights go off when the switch is in the on position and come on when the switch is in the office position
