We have just put the roof on our new extension and after putinf on battens and counter battens. It looks like the new tiles will be about 30mm low with the existing(theyre supposed to match up) is there anything i can do to make up this 30mm without it affecting the dry verge etc.? thanks

To get the tiles to run through perfectly you'll need to take your battens off, add another 30mm to counter battens, and re-batten. Sort verges and fascias to suit.

AS above, but this should have been obvious before the first strech of underlay went on

Sounds like whoever did your roof structure is at fault, as they should have fixed the rafters at the right level to compensate for counter battens surely?

Begs the question, who is building this roof?

It aint difficult to have a little dry run just to see where all the battening and tiles finish relative to existing, prior to going ahead with all that major fixing work. So why didn't they do this?!!

Bonkers. At some point after fixing about the fifth or sixth batten didn't somebody say "oo this seems a bit low, shall we stop"?
