Hi there. I've just replaced the siphon in my close coupled toilet. Unfortunately the joint between the siphon and the cistern is leaking. I've used the washer that came with the siphon (on the inside of the cistern) and tightened the big plastic nut to hand-tight plus a quarter turn, as instructed. So, I'm thinking I need to use some sealant under the washer. The original siphon had some sort of sealant applied, which I removed. It was sort of rubbery in texture - whoever originally installed the toilet used the same sealant around the (bottom) inlet and the overflow outlet. I'm wondering what i should use - clearly it needs to be something that can survive being submerged in water constantly. I didn't want to try normal bath/shower sealant because the stuff I removed didn't have that kind of texture. Any suggestions? Thanks.
